Wireless connection problems
CASK FAQ
What is the matter?
You use a wireless connection and you have no connection at all or the connection is weak, or an existing connection is lost frequently...
What should I do?
You may try:
- Power your laptop from AC power instead of running it from the battery.
A wireless receiver in a laptop consumes quite a lot of energy. If the laptop's power is low, the power may not be sufficient for the connection to the wireless access point.
- If you have to run your laptop from its battery, be sure to disable the option 'Shut down wireless connection to save power'. Go to this page to read how to do it.
- Move closer to a Wireless Access Point. More information...
Watch the 'Wireless Network Connection' icon in the system tray. Find the location with the greatest number of green bars.
- If many people (with computers) simultaneously use the same Wireless Access Point (WAP), move to another room or area with less people sharing a WAP.
If you do have wireless connection, but have other internet connection problems, read more on this page.
