Scrolling results in an illegible screen
CASK FAQ
What is the matter?
Scrolling results in an illegible screen with a trail of copies of the content, as shown below.
What should I do?
This indicates that too high demands are placed on the graphics card in your computer.
Close all browser windows and applications that are not essential, to free resources. This usually solves the problem.
Background
The graphics card is the device in your computer that generates the picture that is displayed on the screen. During scrolling, large sections of the screen have to be recalculated repetitively in a short period of time. Very occassionally, it appears that the demands posed on the graphics card exceed its capacities, resulting in weird, illegible screen displays. Reducing the demands by closing applications, allows the graphics card to again perform as required. The CASK team has observed this problem a couple of times, only on laptops.
