What is the matter?
The privacy settings in Norton Internet Security (or a comparable security program) prevent a site to 'read' its referrer. This setting causes a problem, so I need to disable this setting.
What should I do?
You may do one of two things (click on them to read more):
- You may switch off Privacy Settings completely (this holds for all Web Sites you visit), ..or...
Follow the steps below. Click on a step for a screenshot or more information
- Go to the 'Starting Page' of Norton Protection Center, choose: Norton Internet Security, Status en instellingen, Privacycontrole, click 'Configure'
- Click 'Adapted level' (Aangepast niveau)
- Uncheck 'Browserprivacy' (Browserprivacy inschakelen)
Uncheck (=remove the tick) 'Browserprivacy' (Browserprivacy inschakelen)
- Click 'OK' as many times as neccessary.
- Go to the 'Starting Page' of Norton Protection Center, choose: Norton Internet Security, Status en instellingen, Privacycontrole, click 'Configure'
- You may switch off Privacy Settings only for specific sites.
The sites used by CASK are www.medischonderwijs.nl, www.medicaleducation.nl and www.boerhaavenet.nl.

- Go to the 'Starting Page' of Norton Protection Center, choose: Norton Internet Security, Status en instellingen, Privacycontrole, click 'Configure'
- Click 'Advanved' (Geavanceerd)
- Choose 'Add Site' (Site toevoegen)
- Enter www.boerhaavenet.nl in the textfield and click 'OK'.
- Select www.boerhaavenet.nl in the list and select 'Information about visited Sites - Allow' (Informatie over bezochte sites - toestaan)
- Click 'OK' as many times as neccessary.
- Repeat this procedure (steps 1-6) for www.medischonderwijs.nl and www.medicaleducation.nl.
- Go to the 'Starting Page' of Norton Protection Center, choose: Norton Internet Security, Status en instellingen, Privacycontrole, click 'Configure'
Background
The Privacy setting 'No referrer' prevents a web page to 'read' from which site it is referred. If a site needs to know from which site its is referred (e.g. as a security check), but this information is blocked, functionality on that site may not function.
